Alexander Mosolov, Vladimir Deshov and Sergei Prokofiev spearheaded a Soviet avant-garde movement in the 1920s and 1930s that had clear-cut ties to full-fledged Futurism. At the time, many of the works were misunderstood, never performed, or remained unfinished. Young composers Alexei Sioumak, Alexander Khubeev, Boris Filanovski, Kirill Umanski and Alexei Sysoev are now taking on this explosive chapter in the history of Russian music. They are attempting to reconstruct the avant-garde music of that period and link it to the present, under the direction of Feder Lednov.
