Roman Signer, an iconic figure in Swiss contemporary art and one of the best-loved artists in the history of TRANSART, returns for the festival's grand finale with a new, unprecedented action: Zehn Stangen, an explosive premiere performance. With his unmistakable poetics between sculpture, time and the physics of the unexpected, Signer continues his research into the transformation of matter, using ten rods (Stangen) and detonating energy as plastic media. Known to enchant Transartian audiences with his poetic and evocative performances - including Vers La Flamme. Concert with Disturbance and Luft. Four Temporal Sculptures with Helicopter - the artist re-engages in dialogue with the Alpine landscape in a new site-specific work. As always in his work, the technical gesture is transformed into pure vision, where expectation, risk and the ephemeral merge into suspended time.
