Thursday 11.09
h 20:00 → h 23:00
The body as a kinetic tool is at the centre of the experimentation of South Korean artist Geumhyung Jeong, whose work spans performance, dance, choreography, theatre, video and installation.
Since the beginning of her career, Jeong has investigated the relationship between the human body and the objects that surround it, through productions that combine languages and techniques from the fields of contemporary dance, figure theatre and visual arts. During the physical interaction between her body and objects, it becomes ambiguous who controls whom, blurring the boundary between inanimate and animate.
In Rehearsal, the artist investigates the compositional possibilities of her staged body through different structures, sequences and dynamics that interact with the space, bringing out subtle variations from time to time.
In this intimate solo Jeong focuses on the essence of movement, exploring new terrain in her personal research.
