h 22:30 → h 22:45
In a dystopic yet glamorous scene a mad scientist, playing God, creates and plays with his own mechanic, sex-doll monsters in a musical performance piece.
CocoRosie reflects on the physical and spiritual ignorance of artificial ‘intelligence’. Simulating doll-like, crude, robot bodies, who move and react without a will of their own, they play with ventriloquism and puppetry, elucidating the disconnection and disassociation of humans forfeiting their natural intelligence for the seductive, convenient and instantly gratifying ‘Intelligence’ of the homogenous machine.
Through an aesthetic of retro-futuristic clichés of modernity, CocoRosie interacts with and simultaneously deconstructs pop culture, linear time and the mainstream through their sustained approach of satirical storytelling.
