SENZA TITOLO

A golden tube suspended at the center of a bare room, with a microphone inserted into it: few are the elements that bring Senza Titolo to life, the performative installation by Romeo Castellucci.

Each performer on stage carries out a repeated movement, a reiterated action, striking the brass tube with their wet hair. This primitive gesture emerges from the body to become sound—an alert, an ancestral prayer. Born from the fluidity of artistic languages, Senza Titolo was originally conceived by Castellucci for Triennale Milano. A unique work, it envelops the viewer in an empty space, whose pristine white walls must not be touched. At times, the performers’ hieratic figures animate the space, enacting scenic actions that are pure sound.

Director, and creator of sets, lighting, and costumes, Castellucci is a globally renowned artist and one of the most significant figures in contemporary theater.
