Dances for Lucia Długoszewski

Klangforum Wien, ImPulsTanz

"Fascinating, absolutely wild, explosive!" The musicians of Klangforum Wien were captivated by Lucia Długoszewski’s soundscapes after recording her works. Born to Polish parents in Detroit (USA), she studied with John Cage and Edgar Varèse before forging her own path. For over forty years she collaborated with New York dancer and choreographer Erick Hawkins – the first male dancer for Martha Graham. Now, joined by 4 dancers and 12 musicians of Klangforum Wien, outstanding choreographers Weronika Pelczyńska and Elizabeth Ward reimagine the possibilities of Długoszewski’s music in contemporary dance.

A co-production by ImPulsTanz and Klangforum Wien
