Julia Frank, Thea Moeller, Veronika Eberhart
The future goes on stage at NOI Techpark. As part of the strategic partnership with TRANSART, curator Victoria Dejaco was invited, together with three artists, to make a careful selection from “100 strumenti del futuro” (100 tools of the future), to reflect the change and evolution of craft and artistic production in the present day. Veronika Eberhart (Austria, 1982), Julia Frank (Italy, 1988), and Thea Moeller (Germany, 1985) engage in an experimental exchange with different devices through their artistic practice. As much as their individual positions might differ, the three artists are united in this explicit confrontation with the means of production and their use. Among others, Thea Moeller’s interventions arise from an architectural use of materials and their properties. On the other hand, in Julia Frank’s work, criticism of systems and society is explicit, and the content determines the material and the form. In a similar fashion, Veronika Eberhart approaches her work as a feminist. The uses of materials and production processes cannot ignore the social and systemic contexts that define them, and these will be explored, based on personal artistic perspectives, and with an emphasis and criticism that is reflected in their creations.
